Summer is just around the corner, and what does that mean? Tons and tons of women, and even men wearing swimsuits and bathing in the sun. Yes tanning… everyone wants that perfect tan. To look dewy and glow, not like a pale dumpling. Summer is where everyone is dying to get in shape, and having a perfect tan is included. So to help with it people would sit in the sun for hours, and flip when they wanted to. They came up with tanning beds, and tanning sprays, and even an injection to prefect it. The other methods worked but for short a short amount of time, or it damaged the body. So the next best alternative was and injection called melanotan. Now you’re probably wondering how an injection can alter the skin colour, well let me explain.
How does it work?
This is actually a synthetic hormone, which was designed for the use of darkening the skin. When injected into the skin it will affect the melanin of the skin, causing it to darken up. The injection will stimulate the exposure your body has to the sun. So with that once you step out into the sun you will get darker than your normal tanning time. Before you inject it you will have to dilute the solution in water, as it is safer. So with this you can get the tan you desire without spending weeks in the sun.
Who is it good for?
Well it’s good for anybody you wants a tan, it works with everybody, but you have to know your skin type, that way you want is best for you. Skin types ranging from 1 and 2 are more likely to see fast results, as they are pale, and will tan quicker than darker skin types. However there are more skin types, there are actually 6 types, ranging from very fair to a defined pigment. Some of these skin types will burn and never tan, where as many will tan easily tan and never burn. All of it depends them skin type, so you have to work with a certain dosage to get what you want.
The science behind it
Melanotan is a chemical used to stimulate the hormones, they do this through Alpha –MSH which produces melanin. This will affect the skin pigmentation, causing it to be darker. Alpha-MSH is activated through ultraviolent light that means the more sunlight, or UV rays you are exposed to will increases the level of Alpha-MSH released in to the body. This will allow the skin to be more pigmented at a faster rate that basically means the more melanin the more tan you become.
